Ski/Snowboard instructor

Key responsibilities
- Arrive before mountain operations start, in order to prepare for the day. (Shovel snow, help with pre-sets, participate in morning meetings)
- Provide a safe, consistent and enjoyable experience for our guests.
- Assist and educate guests with safe loading and unloading on lifts.
- Teach both group and private lessons to guests of all ages.
- Provide a fun, safe, consistent and enjoyable experience for our guests.
- Attend check ins and be ready to teach a minimum of 15 minutes prior to each lesson time.
- Deliver and exceptional guest experience with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Adhere to winter school policies and procedures.
- Teach the full allotted lesson time.
- Assist guests with proper rental fittings.
- Help maintain rental/pro shop in a clean and organized manner.
What are we looking for
- Valid Canadian work permit or visa.
- Good communication skills, fluent in English spoken and written.
- CSIA level 1 or CASI level 1 certification (or international equivalent).
- First aid level 1 is an asset.
- Excellent work ethic and attitude, with the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.
- Being a supportive team member.
- Ability to maintain composure and react quickly and thoughtfully under pressure and emergencies.
- Flexible schedule to meet operational needs, must work weekends and holidays.
- Enjoy working outside in all weather conditions.
Working conditions
Hours of operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules my include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting (must be able to lift 40 lbs), twist, shoveling and other forms of manual tasks.
Compensation and benefits
- Wages start at $ 19.00/hr.
- Season pass with reciprocal program.
- Discounts at the restaurant.
- Uniforms will be provided and consist out of a jacket and pants.
- Limited time off is available except over the holidays and weekends, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Staff accommodation is available.
